Gilbert Lee King

Gilbert Lee King, 64, of Buna, died Thursday, April 27, 2023. He was born on April 17, 1959, in Kountze, to Gabriel Lelia LaRive King and Gilbert Bee King.

Gilbert was an excellent mechanic and worked many years with his brother-in-law, Cecil Payton, Sr., all over the country, as a boilermaker. He will be remembered for his love of joking and being silly. He had a heart of gold and would do anything for anyone.

Survivors include his sister, Diana Payton of Buna; nieces and nephews, Cheri Coudrian of Silsbee; Cecil Samuel Payton, Jr., of Buna; and Andrea Nicole Payton-Rife of Buna; great-nieces and great-nephews, Dustin Rife and his wife, Cassie; Tara Ellis and her husband, Josh; and Joshua McCollough. He is preceded in death by his parents.

Mr. King’s committal will be held at Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont, under the direction of Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee.
