Gilda Wilson

Gilda O. Wilson, 86, of Port Neches, died Tuesday, November 1, 2022. She was born May 13, 1936, in Tylertown, Mississippi, to Lena Mae Thornhill and Wilton O’Quin.

Gilda retired in 2008 after forty-nine years as an LVN. She loved to volunteer at The Medical Center of Southeast Texas, Port Arthur after retirement. She had a faithful fellowship at Ridgewood Baptist Church.

The Houston Astros were Gilda’s favorite team and she loved to watch them play. One of her last wishes was to watch them enter the World Series. She also loved to listen to Christian music, spend time with her family, and gardening. Gilda truly had a wonderful life, and she enjoyed every moment.

Gilda will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a warm and caring person whose kind heart always shined, and she will be missed forever.

Survivors include her children, Timothy Wilson of Beaumont; Deborah Cutrer and husband, Gus, of Vidor; Judy Collier and husband, Randy, of Port Neches; and Holly Wilson and spouse, Kim, of Groves; grandchildren, Nathan Grayson; Josh Grayson; Katlyn McAnally; and Kelsey Oranday; great-grandchildren, Branden, Taylor, Eli, Abigail, Carl, Patience, Donovan, Braylon “Bub”, Kyler, Charlee Kay, Brodee, Brynleigh, and Brooklynn; great-great-granddaughter, Wrenley Mae; sister, Willie Mae Johnson of Prairieville, Louisiana; and aunt, Norma Jean Coker of Jayess, Mississippi.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles Henry Wilson; and brother, Gary O’Quin.

A gathering of Mrs. Wilson’s family and friends will be 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Monday, November 7, 2022, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. Her funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 8, 2022, at Ridgewood Baptist Church, 2920 Lake Arthur, Drive, Port Arthur, with her interment to follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park, Port Neches.
