Glenda L. Cook

January 21, 1940 - February 27, 2025

Glenda L. Cook, 85, entered into Eternal Peace Wednesday, February 26, 2025, with her loving family by her side.

She was born in Holmwood, Louisiana on January 21, 1940, to her parents, Camille Broussard Edmonds and Harold (Bud) Edmonds. She graduated from St Anthony’s in Beaumont, TX.  Glenda married Milton Magee in 1960. She gave birth to her baby girl, Vicki Lee, on January 7, 1962, and her sweet son, Sam, on January 22, 1963. They raised their family in Lumberton. She later married Richard “Dick” Cook in 1980. He preceded her in death in 2024.

Glenda had a beauty salon at her home in Lumberton for many years where she met amazing friends she cherished for the rest of her life. She then went on to work as a mortgage loan officer in Marble Falls and later in Beaumont, until her retirement. Although she worked full time, she managed to care for her loving mother Camille (“Gran” as many knew her) and Rena White, Camille’s life-long best friend, for many years until they passed. Later, as Dick’s health deteriorated, Glenda also provided care for him. Glenda was known for her relentless work ethic.

She was reunited at the Gates of Heaven by her son, Sam, husband, Dick, her parents, sister, Gynell, brother, James and many others she touched throughout her life.

Surviving family include daughter, Vicki, who lovingly cared for her until her passing. Nieces, Terri Edmonds Vodicka, Tanny Edmonds-Hunt, and Jacklyn Still, as well as nephew, James Edmonds. Grandchildren, Gretchen (Jason) Courting, Kaelee (Rusty) Gregory, Chance (Lily) Magee, Gentry Magee, and great-grandchildren, Camille and Conrad Courting, Andi and Walker Fallin, Millie Magee, and many family and friends that she loved dearly.

A Celebration of Mrs. Cook’s life will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 8, 2025, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.

My best friend from 1960 to present. Many memories of our early marriage and having our babies together, raising our kids and growing into our elderly age. We have loved, laughed and cried together. We have always been there for one another. I will miss you but know that you are once again with Sam. 💕 Your friend/Sister in Christ

Glenda was a wonderful classmate. She sounds like she stayed that way throughout the years. My thoughts and prayers for her family and friends. Quite a few classmates welcomed her. 2024-2025 have claimed many old Bulldogs!
