Glenna Lewis Martin

September 1, 1931 - February 1, 2023

Glenna Mae Martin, 91, went to her heavenly home on Wednesday, February 1, 2023, at Silsbee Oaks Nursing Home. She was born on September 1, 1931, in Raegan, Texas, to May and Harlon Lewis.  A 1948 graduate at Silsbee High School, she was the salutatorian of her class. Glenna married Harold Martin on June 9, 1948, and had one daughter, Brenda, who was the center of her world.

She was employed by Allstate Insurance as a clerical supervisor for twenty-three years and was known as a hardworking and loyal employee.

A talented seamstress, Glenna made most of her and Brenda’s dresses.  She made incredible red velvet cakes that were requested at many family events. One of her favorite weekend pastimes was playing Mexican train with family and friends.

She spent many years serving on the Guest Services team at church, where she gave countless hugs and made people feel so welcome.

Glenna is survived by her daughter, Brenda Martin Pippin Buck and her husband, Sammy;  grandsons, Brandon Pippin and his wife, Courtney and Brent Pippin and his wife, Brittany; great-grandchildren, Kelsy, Jake, Bradley, Kinsy, Brecken, Gaige, Britain, Paris, and Gabriel; brother, David Lewis and his wife, Judy; and a host of family and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Harold Martin.

A gathering of Glenna’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday, February 3, 2023, at Parkway Life Church, Village Creek Parkway at Mitchell Road, Lumberton, under the direction of Broussard’s, Silsbee.  Her funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 4, 2023, at Parkway Life Church, with her interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont.
