Gloria Huckaby

January 11, 1931 - September 17, 2021

Glorious Margaret “Gloria” Huckaby, 90, of Lumberton, made her journey home to be with our Lord Friday, September 17, 2021. She was born January 11, 1931, in Ville Platte, Louisiana, to Clara Mae DeVille Vidrine and Louis Vidrine. Everyone who knew Gloria loved her. She was a mom and granny to all.

Survivors include her husband, Dennis Edwin Huckaby; children, Bill Mitchell and wife, Deborah; Susan Lowe; Pam Stevens; Barbara Mitchell; and Robin McLemoire and husband, Mike; grandchildren, Stephanie Goodman; Casey Mitchell and wife, DeeAnn; Christina Odom and husband, Kenneth; Angela Cluck and husband, David; Ashley Guidry and husband, Joseph; Kamron Mitchell; Chelsea Lowe; and Christopher Stevens; fourteen great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren, all of whom she loved dearly.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Clara Mae and Louis Vidrine; sisters, Barbara Yielding and Ruth DeVille; and grandson, William Mitchell, Jr.

A gathering of Mrs. Huckaby’s family and friends will be 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 22, 2021, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. A celebration of life will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, September 23, 2021, at Broussard’s, with her interment to follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park, Port Neches.
