Gregory Odom Lee
Gregory Odom Lee, 66, of Orange, died Monday, July 17, 2023. He was born on September 29, 1956, in Houston to Bonnie Odom and Johnny Lee.
Gregory was a man of high integrity; he was his family’s moral compass. He was a hardworking and well-humored father and grandfather, who told the best jokes. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and he loved to golf. Gregory was a petroleum landman until 1994. He was also the previous partner and operator of several Sonic Drive-Ins. He then opened several Fuzzy’s Taco Shops here in the Golden Triangle.
Survivors include his loving wife, Gaylene Lee of Orange; children, Richard Lee of Austin; Eric Lee and his wife, Shannon, of Deep River, Connecticut; and Rebekah Nelson and her husband, Tommy, of Williamsburg, Virginia; grandchildren, Camryn Nelson, Addison Lee, Johnny Lee, Ethan Lee, and Thomas Nelson; brother, Geoffrey Lee; nephews, Ryan Lee, Austin Lee, and Sean Lee.
Gregory is preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial contributions may be made to MD Anderson Cancer Center, 1515 Holcombe Boulevard, Houston, Texas 77030.
Cremation arrangements for Mr. Lee were handled through Broussard’s Crematorium under the direction of Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont.
I just learned of Greg’s passing and had to drop a note. Great memories of working with Greg in Amarillo during our times together as landmen at Slawson Oil. Greg was a great guy and will be missed. Condolences and best wishes to Gaylene and family from Cyndee and I.

So sorry for your loss. We have such wonderful memories of Greg, Gaylene, and family from when y’all lived in Amarillo and Bryan. All the shared meals, visits, and laughter still fill our hearts. Prayers and big hugs for all of you.
