Gus Toloudis
Gus Toloudis, 94 years young, received his angel wings on April 27, 2022. He was born to Thelma Holtz Toloudis and Chris Toloudis in Labelle, Texas, on March 15, 1928. He lived his entire life on their family homestead.
Gus graduated from Fannett High School in 1946. After graduating, he left the very next day for the United States Navy. Upon returning home from the Navy, he wed the love of his life Rena Mae Miller and he went to work for Sun Oil Company until he retired at the age of 57. He could often be seen around town with his wife in his navy hat. He enjoyed visiting with folks from all over that stopped him to thank him for his service to our country. Gus served on the Fannett school board during the sixties.
He was an active member of St Marys Catholic Church and served as a 4th degree Knight in the Knights Of Columbus, council 6763 for many years. To his family, he was the “ self-proclaimed,”Mayor of Labelle. His most happy times were well spent as an outdoorsman, deer hunting. Duck hunting and fishing for anything that happened to jump on his line.
More than anything else it must be said, Gus loved people and those people adored him!!! That without doubt, was a gift from God.

Survivors include his daughters, Brenda Vessels and husband, Charles Vessels, of LaBelle; Ranell Revia and husband, Roger Revia, of Hamshire; grandchildren, Lance Revia, Jason Revia, Chad Revia, Jade Oliver and Nigel Vessels; ten great-grandchildren; and five great great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death, his wife, Rena Mae Toloudis; parents, Chris and Thelma Toloudis; brothers, Jerome, Nick, Jimmy, and Kemo Toloudis; sister, Violet Bordes; and great-grandchild, Devin Revia.
Pallbearers will include Lance Revia, Jason Revia, Nigel Vessels, Jimmy Toloudis, Scott Toloudis and Robert Bordes. Honorary Pallbearers are Kip Toloudis, Chad Revia, and Lonray Biano.
A gathering of Mr. Toloudis’ family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with a Rosary recited at 6:00 p.m., Monday, May 2, 2022, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 3, 2022, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 9894 Gilbert Road, Fannett, Texas, with his interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 4955 Pine Street, Beaumont. Reception will follow at the St. Mary Catholic Church Reception Hall.

Brenda and Ranell, I will never forget meeting your mama and daddy for the first time, how they both were so nice to me and every time we talked how they always made me feel kinda special. Rick and I both thought the world of them .As did any one else that knew them. It’s so sad to lose our folks. But the great memories are still there.

So sorry to hear of the passing of Uncle Gus. He was the last great man that was in our dads’ generation. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
I’ve known Mr Gus for almost 60 years. He always made me feel comfortable and had many questions of my business and well being. He started every greeting polite and soft spoken. Upon every visit I felt that he genuinely cared about our conversations. There are not enough folks like Mr Gus around these days. He will be greatly missed. God bless his soul and may he Rest In Peace.

I’m so sorry for your loss, Gus was a great man and a great person could not ask for a better person to be around. I use to watch him and dad work on weed eaters in the Garage, and never a cross word they always picking at each other.. he will be missed dearly..RIP MR. Gus
