To my perfect daughter,
Long ago I began to write a letter in the unfortunate event that I would not be able to attend your wedding, but I never finished it because I told myself that I would have plenty of “time”. But now I am here writing a letter that would hopefully represent how much you mean to me and all those who were fortunate enough to have ever met you. Who is Harper? If you were lucky enough to meet her, then you would describe her as “incredibly special”. You had a way of making everyone absolutely love you. It may have been your beautiful smile, your charming personality, your respectfulness, or your big heart. It might have even been the “my way or the highway” approach. Your kindness has touched every soul that you have ever met. I will always remember the caring daughter who tucks her father in for bed. The filial daughter who boils a kettle of water so mom would have a cup of warm water in the afternoon. The big sister in you who loves her siblings so dearly, always protecting them. We will cherish every memory, every smile, and every moment that we spent together. Even though the pain that we are feeling is immense, I know that like all things this pain is temporary. Although you are gone, I find comfort knowing that your spirit has moved on to where you are no longer suffering. Please don’t worry about me, mom, Parker, and Piper because we will be okay, you can let go and move on. Like mom always says, please continue to chant AMIDAPHAT and we will meet again in the western pure land. Thank you for being my best friend and allowing me to have the greatest job in the world of being your father. WE ALL love you 3000!

Harper Ava Ha, 8, of Beaumont, passed away Saturday, February 22, 2025. She was born on June 5, 2016, to Hang Nguyen and Viet Ha, in Beaumont, and was a student at China Elementary.
Along with her parents, she is survived by her brother, Parker Ha and sister, Piper Ha.
A gathering of Harper’s family and friends will be from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. Her cremation arrangements will be handled through Broussard’s Crematorium.

My sweet baby niece,
Words cannot describe how much I miss you. I’ve always been hesitant to bond with kids because once I do, they tend to not leave me alone. But you are different than all the other kids. You are one of the only kids that I could not resist falling in love with. No matter how hard I tried to keep my distance, you made me fall in love with you. Your perfect personality was impossible to resist. You are an angel sent from heaven. I suppose this is why God wanted you back so soon. Probably because you had already fulfilled the duties of an angel to the world. I always used to tell you that my baby daughter wanted to be just like you, her older cousin Harper. And you used to tell me that I “always” say that. So out of respect for you, I stopped saying it. Although my daughter did want to be just like you, the real truth is that I’m the one who wanted my daughter to be just like you because you are the perfect role model. If my daughter is half the person that you are, she will be a good person. Keep spreading love, hope, and kindness to everyone in heaven. But you don’t need me to tell you that, because you already do that without anyone having to tell you to do so. Uncle Chris loves you so much. I’ll try to be the wonderful the person that you are. But I’m not perfect. Only you are.

Harper…..My beautiful, precious, smiling little student that always had a kind word, a sweet hug, or a lending hand to help others. Your mind and personality were bright, creative, curious and spunky. One of my favorite memories of you was when we were learning about living and non living organisms. I brought in real earthworms and gummy worms for the activity. You did not want to touch the real worms or have them near your desk. You were truly grossed out and squealed with disgust! You did however love eating all the gummy worms! I may have snuck you a few extras!
Your beautiful little life will forever stay alive in our memories.
I loved you from the moment I met you and always will. God created a beautiful person when He made you! ❤️
