Helen Bass, 87, of Nederland, died Saturday, January 1, 2022. She was born April 14, 1934, in Port Arthur, to Helen and Volney Ross.

Through the years she worked as a secretary, switchboard operator, and a customer service rep, but her favorite career was being a seamstress.  She sewed for all the neighborhood children as well as the grandkids.

Survivors include her sons, Jim and wife, Sheila, of Nederland; Raymond and wife, Carol, of Nederland; and Ross and wife, Wendy, of Nederland; seven grandchildren; eleven great- grandchildren; and brother, Maurice Ross.

Helen is preceded in death by her parents, Helen and Volney Ross; husband, James Bass; daughter, Georgie Volz; and seven brothers.
