Helen Marie Bettis, 87, of Winnie, died Tuesday, November 29, 2022. She was born April 13, 1935, in Beaumont, to Frances and Howard Smith.

Survivors include her husband, Kenneth Bettis, Sr.; children, Ken Bettis, Jr. and wife, Trish and Denise Patton and husband, Don; grandchildren, Amber Maldonaldo and husband, Alex; Derek Bettis; Haley Bettis; Brady Bettis and wife, Maria; Todd Patton and wife, Megan; and Blake Patton and wife, Rae; great-grandchildren, Samuel Patton; Addie Kay Patton; Landon Patton; Isaac Maldonaldo; Aurora Maldonaldo; Marco Maldonaldo; and Wyley Bettis; and half-sister, Deborah Gale.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

A gathering of Mrs. Bettis’ family and friends will be 1:00 p.m., with her memorial service at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 3, 2022, at Broussard’s, 134 West Buccaneer Drive, Winnie. Her cremation arrangements will be handled through Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont.

Memorial contributions in Mrs. Bettis’ honor may be made to First Baptist Church, 25304 TX-124, Hamshire, Texas 77622.

    I am so sorry I did not know about the loss of Mrs. Bettis. She was such a kind neighbor while we were growing up and just a truely nice person. Coach, You were there for our Mama when my Daddy passed away, and our family has never forgotten that kindness.
