Henry Charles Pressler
Henry Charles Pressler, Jr., 93, of Beaumont, died Wednesday, July 31, 2024. He was born on August 1, 1930, in Beaumont, to Theresa Ann Alamo Pressler and Henry Charles Pressler, Sr.
After graduating from Beaumont High School in 1948, Henry studied engineering at Lamar College (now Lamar University). In 1970 Henry opened his own business, Pressure Cleaning Equipment, which he operated until his retirement in 2000. Henry designed and built pressure washing equipment and formulated the chemical cleaning products he sold. The business operated internationally, including in the Persian Gulf. Following retirement, Henry worked for several years as a salesman at J.K. Chevrolet, earning a gold ring for excellence in salesmanship.
While growing professionally and raising a family, Henry pursued an interest in politics. Running as a Republican, he challenged Jack B. Brooks for the congressional seat of Texas’ 9th district in the elections of 1968 and 1970. Though he was unsuccessful in unseating Brooks, Henry took pride in his civic contributions and gained many lasting connections and friendships.
In addition to his business and political pursuits, Henry was known for his skills as builder. Henry designed and built furniture and remodeled several properties; he also built two homes.
A life-long music enthusiast, Henry played trombone and trumpet in the band in both high school and college. He loved jazz standards and tunes of the big band era. His favorite performers included Harry James, Tony Bennett, and the singing duo Steve Lawrence and Eydie Gormé. Most recently, Henry admired the vocal collaboration of Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga. A talented singer, himself, Henry performed karaoke and provided entertainment at private clubs locally as well as in cities as distant as Las Vegas, Nevada. Henry’s alias when performing was Tony Alamo.
Survivors include his wife of sixty-six years, Elizabeth King Cook Pressler; daughter, Elizabeth Ann Pressler Jacobson and her husband, Mark; son, Henry C. Pressler, III; grandchildren, Nicole Alexandria Pressler Grissom and her husband, Trent; Henry C. Pressler, IV; and Eva Jacobson; and great-grandchildren, Alyse Pressler, Kendall Grissom, Blake Grissom, and Gracelynn Grissom.

Henry Serviced our pressure washer for years at Nederland I.S.D. I always enjoyed visiting with him on a service call or delivering soap. He was a character for sure. Rest in peace old friend.
