Henry Lee Marino

July 25, 1937 - June 20, 2025

Henry Lee Marino, 87, of Beaumont, died Friday, June 20, 2025, at Jefferson Nursing and Rehabilitation, Beaumont. He was born on July 25, 1937, to Katherine Ragusa Marino and Victor Marino, in Beaumont, and was a United States Army Veteran. He retired from Pipefitters Local 195 after 60 years.

Henry worked hard, loved to cook, and loved dogs and cats. His favorite food was pasta and meatballs. Henry enjoyed fishing, deer hunting, spending time at his beach cabin and metal/wood shop and listening to anything by George Jones. He could fix anything.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Donia DeVersa Marino; son, Gary Lee Marino; grandson, Philip Lee Marino; daughter-in-law, Jane Montalbano Marino; and sister, Frances Marino.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Vincent, Tony, Joe, Peter, and Jake Marino; and sisters, Laura Celeste, Rosilee Hayles, and Mary Alice Snider.

A gathering of Mr. Marino’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., with a Rosary recited at 6:00 p.m., Thursday, June 26, 2025, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 27, 2025, at St. Anne Catholic Church, 2715 Calder Avenue, Beaumont. His interment will follow at Magnolia Cemetery, Beaumont.

    I’m not surprised that he listened to George Jones since his brother Jake sang with George in early years and sold peanuts parched by Mrs. Marino on downtown Pearl St. A nickel per bag… Good memories…

    I knew Henry Lee since he was three years old and I was his mentor during his early years .He spent much of his time at our next door house — 3309 Ector —Always in quisitive and courteous and pleasant .I have never forgotten him or his pleasant manner.
