Henry Paul Dugat

March 30, 1941 - April 24, 2023

Henry “Peanut” Paul Dugat, 82, of Warren, died peacefully at home Monday, April 24, 2023, with his family by his side. He was born on March 30, 1941, in Sour Lake, to Erna Mae Rhame Dugat and Clarence Paul Dugat.

He was employed with the International Longshoremen’s Association of Clerks and Checkers Local 1665 during his Port of Galveston career. For thirty years, he worked full-time on the docks, and maintained a working cattle ranch and soybean farm in Hardin County. After retiring in 1989, he reapplied his full-time attention to farming and ranching.

Henry was a volunteer and board member to numerous community organizations in the Sour Lake area. He provided work-study opportunities, along with valuable life lessons and skills, to many young people with interests in farming and ranching vocations. Henry and his wife mark sixty-two years of happy marriage in 2023.

Survivors include his wife, Sue Jones Dugat; son, Darrell Wayne Dugat of Austin; and nephews, Micah Trent Petry of Baton Rouge and Derek Brandon Petry of Des Moines, Iowa.   He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Janey Dugat Petry.

A memorial service for Mr. Dugat will be 5:00 p.m., Saturday, May 13, 2023, at Broussard’s, 530 West Monroe, Kountze, with refreshments to follow. His committal was held at Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont.
