Marion Herman Hutto

January 22, 1948 - February 17, 2021

Herman Hutto, 73, of Spurger, died Wednesday, February 17, 2021.  He was born on January 22, 1948, in Fred, to Mary Belle Hamilton Hutto and Samuel Dayton Hutto.  Herman proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era.

He enjoyed fishing with his buddies, hunting, cooking, and eating.  He retired from Temple Inland after thirty plus years of service.  Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife of twenty-seven years, Charlie Hutto; daughters, Sherry Odom and her husband, Robert, of Spurger; Melissa Hutto of Shepherd; Jennifer Arrant and her husband, Doug, and Terin Odom, all of Livingston; sons, Randy Hutto of Spurger and William “Tooter Bill” Callaway of Fred; grandchildren, Jonathan and his wife, Kayla, Brittany and her husband, Chris, Nathaniel and his wife, Alicia, Mikayla, Warren and his wife, Laura, and Dagan; ten great-grandchildren; sister, Linda Hutto of Silsbee; and numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.  Herman will be especially missed by his faithful canine companions, Taz and Frisky.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Belle and Sam Hutto.

A gathering of Mr. Hutto’s family and friends will be 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Sunday, February 21, 2021, at Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee.  His funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, February 22, 2021, at Broussard’s, with his interment to follow at Fred Community Cemetery, Fred.

I use to be Herman’s back neighbor 35 years ago. I remember Herman’s laugh and smile. Herman took me on my first squirrel hunting trip. I cried and made a fuss. Hunting is not my thing. He smiled and told me to fall back so I don’t scare all the other squirrels. Lol. RIP Mr. Herman. ❤️
