Hilda Mae Casey Downey
Hilda Mae Casey Downey, 94, of Sour Lake, died Tuesday, May 24, 2022, at Harbor Hospice, Beaumont. She was born July 25, 1927, in Sour Lake, to Wilda A. West Casey and Charles E. Casey. Hilda worked as a secretary for Brick Masonry for many years. She was a member of The Order of The Eastern Star and loved to square dance.
Hilda is survived by her grandson, Dan Jones and his wife, Jingle, of Winnie; and boyfriend, Farrell Soileau, of Sour Lake.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Jim Downey; son, Raymond Jones; daughter, Rhonda Jones.
A gathering of Mrs. Downey’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday, May 27, 2022, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. Her funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 28, 2022, at First Baptist Church of Sour Lake, 765 6th Street, Sour Lake, under the direction of Broussard’s, with her interment to follow at Rosedale Cemetery, Sour Lake.
