Hiram Glenn DeWees

November 30, 1949 - March 6, 2020

Hiram Glenn DeWees, 70, of Winnie, died Friday, March 6, 2020, at Christus Southeast Texas-St. Elizabeth, Beaumont. He was born on November 30, 1949, in Port Arthur, to Grace Mire and Perry DeWees. Glenn was a United States Navy veteran, having served in the Vietnam War. He was a retired heavy equipment operator.

Survivors include his wife, Beverly DeWees, of Winnie; daughters, Misty Coleman and her husband , Alvin, of Vidor; Michelle Bozeman and her partner, Cheryl, of Jasper; Teri Summers and her husband, Mike, of Lake Sam Rayburn; and Shelley Dowden and her husband, Billy, of Lumberton; grandchildren, Adam Coleman, Noah Coleman, Dakota and Tyler Gaines, Allie Grace Bozeman, Halea Stephens, Tyler McClure, Shane Jones, Jason Dowden, Nena Shoemaker, and Holly Hawkins; thirteen great-grandchildren; sister, Ruthie DeWees; numerous nieces and nephews, and close family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents; son, J. J. Brown; and brother, Larry DeWees.

Cremation arrangements for Mr. DeWees were handled by Broussard’s Crematorium, under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105 or to The Humane Society of Southeast Texas, P.O. Box 1629, Beaumont, Texas 77704.
