Howard “Rick” Rosenthal

Howard “Rick” Rosenthal, 88, of Beaumont, died Monday, May 12, 2025, at Christus Southeast Texas – St. Elizabeth, Beaumont. He was born on July 2, 1936, to Frances and Albert Rosenthal, in Chicago, Illinois. Rick retired after twenty-seven years of service in the United States Army as a SGM. He completed two tours in Vietnam and one in Korea then spent twenty-two years as a volunteer EMT-I/FF in Gilcrist and the Bolivar Peninsula

Survivors include his special friend, Betty Toomey; daughter, Monica Lamb and her husband, Kenny, of Tennessee; son, Leon Rosenthal and his wife, Cindy, of Arizona; daughter, Julie Cormier and her husband, Gary and son, Greg Welch, all of Texas; grandchildren, Andy Hegarty and his wife, Amanda, of Belton; Matthew Crawford and his wife, Kimberly, of Coppell; and Allison Rosenthal, Elise Rosenthal, and Taylor Rosenthal, all of Arizona; great-grandchildren, Evelyn, Davey and Mason Hegarty and Ashton and Bryson Crawford, all of Texas; and nephew, Mark Barrientos.

He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Marion Barrientos; brother-in-law, Phil Barrientos; and one great-grandson, Alexander Joseph (A.J.) Hegarty.

A gathering of Mr. Rosenthal’s family and friends will begin at 9:00 a.m., with his funeral service at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 17, 2025, at Broussard’s, 134 West Buccaneer Drive, Winnie. His interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Winnie.
