Hugh Weldon Short
Hugh Weldon Short, 88, of Vidor, died Tuesday, June 28, 2022. He was born on February 24, 1934, in Jasper, to Madge Theo Anthony Short and Carroll Guy Short. Hugh was a member of Tolerance Lodge #1165 A.F. & A.M., in Beaumont.
Survivors include his wife, Johnny Sue Short; children, Melinda Jean Kettl and her husband, Lonnie, of Zachary, Louisiana; Guy Sheldon Short, of Florida; Milton Wade Short and his wife, Barbara Ann, of Mauriceville; grandchildren, Kaylee Short Wendling and her husband, Thomas, of Vidor and Ashley Short of Mauriceville; and siblings, Jimmie Silliman of Granada, Dorothy Novack of Spring, and Tom Short and his wife, Shirley, of Lumberton. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Carroll Buell Short.
A gathering of Mr. Short’s family and friends will begin at 10:00 a.m., with his celebration of life to start at 12:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 5, 2022, at Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee. His interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Jasper.
