Ima Porter

Ima Jean Porter, 81, of Fannett, died Friday, September 16, 2022, at Harbor Hospice of Beaumont. She was born January 21, 1941, in Fannett, to Ida Belle Adams Craigen and Eddie Lee Craigen, Sr.

Ima enjoyed cooking and it was known that you never left her house hungry. She also enjoyed mowing and yard work as well as watching westerns and the Dallas Cowboys. Ima will fondly be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandma.

Survivors include her husband of sixty-five years, Leon Porter of Fannett; children, Donna Watson and husband, David, of Fannett; Christy Fountain and husband, Kevin, of Nederland; Donald Porter and wife, Sherry, of Fannett; and Kenneth Porter and wife, Dora, of San Antonio; fifteen grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; brother, Lee Craigen and wife, Diane, of Kirbyville; sister, Lena Bretz of Winnie; godson, Billy Maddox; and numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; son, Horace Leon “Ju Ju” Porter, Jr.; sisters, Shirley Mayer and Evelyn Maddox; and brother, Charles Craigen.

A gathering of Mrs. Porter’s family and friends will begin 10:00 a.m., with her funeral service at 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 23, 2022, at Broussard’s, 134 West Buccaneer Drive, Winnie, with her interment to follow at Broussard Cemetery, Hamshire.
