Ima Rainey

Ima Jean Rainey, 89, of La Marque and formerly of Silsbee, died Wednesday, February 26, 2020.  She was born on December 13, 1930, in Village Mills, to Clara Johnson Kinard and Mart Elton Kinard.

Survivors include her grandchildren, Toni Joe Ruiz of Lumberton and Joe Paxton Murphy of La Marque; great-grandchildren, Gabriel Rogers of Silsbee, Jessie Lou Murphy and Joedi Lyn Murphy, both of League City, Sydni Joe Murphy of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Mason Alexander Murphy of Coupeville, Washington; great-great-grandchildren, Kaleb, Cristelo, and Mia; and sisters, Linda Pryor and her husband, Reverend Paul Pryor, of Midland; Ginger Koopman and her husband, Garland, of Santa Fe; and Shirley Fontenote and her husband, Raymond, of Nederland.  She is preceded in death by her parents; son, Johnny Moulder; daughter, Joe Ann Rompot; sisters, Opal Rivers and Margie McIntyre; and brothers, Kenneth Kinard and James Kinard.

A gathering of Mrs. Rainey’s family and friends will begin at 12:00 p.m., with her funeral service at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 29, 2020, at Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee.  Her interment will follow at Cunningham Cemetery, Silsbee.
