Jack Ed Morris
Jack Ed Morris went to be with the Lord on May 28th, 2025. He passed peacefully at his home in Warren, Texas with his wife of thirty-nine years close by his side.
He was born on February 20th, 1954, to parents Mildred Marie Smith Morris and Joseph Alfred Morris in Cushing, Oklahoma; but always joked that he “got to Texas as fast as he could”. He graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in Midland, Texas and then pursued further education to become an automotive and diesel mechanic. He worked for Southern Pacific Lines and later Union Pacific Railroad for a total of thirty-four years. The majority of that time he was a heavy machinery mechanic, with the last several years of his career spent working in safety.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Mildred and Joseph Morris; and close in-laws, Robert and Merlene Gillespie. He is survived by his loving wife, Deena Morris; son, Robert Morris and daughter-in-law, Ashton; daughter, Stormy Hubbard and son-in-law, Thomas; and grandchildren, Kayden Hubbard, Rylee Hubard, Rainey Hubbard, Jaxon Williams, Jakeb Williams, Brilyn Williams, Krista Hall, and Henri Morris; as well as his brother, Steve Morris and wife, Karen; sister, Kathy Breazeale and husband, Leighton; and a multitude of other family members and close friends.
Jack loved the Lord, he loved his country, and the freedoms associated with it, the Lone Star State, the republican party, and a room-temperature canned beverage whose mascot is an armadillo, and most of all he loved his family. If you stood next to him for more than a couple of minutes he would make sure you knew at least some of that.
Mr. Morris’ celebration of life will be 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at Broussard’s, 530 West Monroe Street, Kountze. It was Jack’s wish to be cremated, so there will be no visitation or graveside services in accordance with his wishes. His cremation arrangements are being handled through Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont.
