Jack JR Connally
Jack Connally, 62, of Silsbee, died Friday, September 17, 2021. He was born on December 24, 1958, in Big Spring, Texas, to Joan McClain Connally and Jack Connally. Jack worked in the Oil & Gas Industry for many years and retired from Phillips 66 a few years ago.
He loved NASCAR, he was a diehard Earnhardt fan, Dale Sr. and Jr. The last few years, he became an avid “Facebook Commenter/Poster”. He was also a local food connoisseur and enjoyed posting reviews on the Southeast Texas Restaurant Review page. He also enjoyed traveling and fishing.
Jack loved his family more than anything. He loved sitting at the kitchen table with his grandson Tristan, talking about random things. He cherished all the visits with his brothers and the large gatherings with his cousins. He was the life of the party and will be missed.
Survivors include his wife, Dana Connally; son, Chad Connally and his wife, Megan, of Orange; grandson, Tristan; brothers, JP Connally and his wife, Angie, of Silsbee and Jerry Connally and his wife, Sheila, of Port Neches; aunts, Dot McClain of Deweyville, and Opal McClain of Ratcliff; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents and several aunts and uncles that he loved dearly.
A celebration of Mr. Connally’s life will be at a later date. His committal was held at Broussard’s Crematorium, under the direction of Broussard’s, Silsbee.

Jack was quite the character of our neighborhood and we’re all going to miss him. The times we had to travel out of town for Mike’s cancer treatments Jack would always tell us not to worry about anything, he watched the house and always got our mail. When he’d come visit he always spoke of how proud he was to have a grandson. Recently he was excited over buying Dana a new vehicle and bragged how well she took care of it. I met Mr. Jack in 2006 at Chevron Terminal. He gave me my first project and opportunity at the terminal as a contractor. From there he took care of me and my company for the next 12 or more years and made sure me and my guys always had work, we were his “A Team”. We spent many lunches together outside of the terminal talking about life, nascar, fishing, football, and most importantly family. Not one day or moment went by he would always talk about Mrs. Dana and how happy and proud he was with Chad. He did say he was a little nervous when Chad joined the military but very proud of him. He loved his family more than anything. Once Mr. Jack retired he would always find time to call me and check to see how ive been and how my family is doing. I am forever grateful to have known Mr. Jack and will cherish all of our memories and time spent together. A selfless person with an amazing heart who always knew how to make you smile and laugh. A true friend who will forever have a special place in my heart. I miss you dearly Mr. Jack, until we meet again.
I first met Jack when I transferred to the Chevron Terminal in Nederland in the maintenance group. At that time, I was pretty green but Jack helped me along. He wasn’t afraid to speak his mind or give his opinion on pretty much everything but he was also willing to give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. I am proud that I was able to work with him and honored to be able to call him a friend. Miss you buddy!
I worked with Jack for several years before we both retired (best thing he ever did!) and considered him a real friend. We shared many a story and special times outside on the “smoke porch.” He was so special, I cherish those times. I was so thankfuoll to be able to “keep up” with him on FB and waited for his cracks often! Jack adored his family and was sooooo excited to have a grandson. Told me, now he really understood why I was so obsessed with mine. He will be truly missed.
