Jackie “Big Jack” Lee Bertolino, Sr.

Jackie “Big Jack” Lee Bertolino, Sr., 68, of High Island, died Sunday, September 15, 2024. He was born September 11, 1956, in Galveston, to Helen “Tiny” Canada and Salvador “Sonny” Bertolino.

Big Jack born and raised, planted his roots deep in the state of Texas. He loved fishing, golf, Nascar, and playing poker. He was a big fan of the Houston Texans and Astros, and all Texas sports teams. Jackie was a great husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was an all-around family man, who loved talking old history and keeping everyone updated with the weather and the news. He dedicated 29 years of service to the Galveston/Bolivar Ferry, where he also obtained many lifelong friends.

Survivors include his loving wife of 37 years, Donna Dailey Bertolino; children, Heather Dailey Deiss and her husband, Paul, Jackie Lee Bertolino, Jr., and his wife, Sarah; grandchildren, Tylor Mueller, Tacota Deiss, Dylan Deiss, Lindsay Deiss Hammer, Asher Deiss; great-grandson, Colt Mueller; and brother, Dennis Bertolino.

He is preceded in death by his parents; great-grandson, Greyson Hammer; and Fur-baby, Daisy.

A gathering of Mr. Bertolino’s family and friends will begin at 11:00 a.m., with his funeral service to follow at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, September 21, 2024, at Broussard’s, 134 West Buccaneer Drive, Winnie. His interment will follow at High Island Cemetery, High Island.
