Jacqueline “Jacque” Rae Liston
Jacqueline “Jacque” Rae Liston, 81, of Hull, died Sunday, October 23, 2022. She was born on December 9, 1940, to Amis Rae Thompson Anderson and John Ray Anderson, in McAllen, and served in the United States Air Force. Jacque was a 1959 graduate of Beaumont High School and attended Sam Houston State University.
She was a talented mezzo-alto who took a lot of joy in her music. Jacque loved working in her yard when she was able and was an avid reader. She was a loving sister, mother, and “Grammy”.
Survivors include her children, Lynda Mae Sawyer and her husband, Phillip and Kevin William Liston and his wife, Angie; siblings, Gwenda Lynn Johnston and Judy Gay Potts and her husband, Stephen; grandchildren, Robert Cook, Emma Sawyer, Mary Sawyer, Michael Liston, Thomas Liston, and Christopher Liston; and numerous friends, loved ones, and church family members through the years.
She preceded in death by her parents; sister, Helen Iris Peebles; brothers-in-law, Harold Raymond Johnston, Jr. and John C. Peebles; and grandson, Benjamin Cook.
A gathering of Ms Liston’s family and friends will begin at 10:00 a.m., with her funeral service at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 29, 2022, at First Baptist Church, 765 6th Street, Sour Lake. Her graveside service will follow at 3:30 p.m. at Davis Cemetery, County Road 475, Kirbyville, under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.

Jacqueline will truly be miss. Always a good nature person who always a a smile. My thoughts and prayers for her family. May she rest in her paradise.
Jacque was right when she took pride in her God-given talent for praise. She was a great singer, whether as a soloist or with her sisters and nieces. I’m glad for the hours and years spent with her as schoolkids and Camp Fire girls. I’m grateful, too, for the hours spent in late life reminiscing together with her. I deeply love Jacque in the way that will never die.
