James E. Trahan, Sr.
James E. Trahan, Sr., 74, of Kountze, died Tuesday, September 14, 2021. He was born on February 9, 1947, in Longview, to Mary Melba Thibodeaux and Thomas Benton Trahan.
James is survived by his son, James E. Trahan, Jr. and his wife, Allison, Austin; daughter, Christie Barto and her husband, Jeremy, of Kountze; brother, Robert S. Trahan, Sr., of Houston; sister, Joan M. Trahan, of Beaumont; grandchildren, John-Thomas B. Lucas, Jesse L. Lucas, Colten E. Barto, Keegan A. Barto, all of Kountze, and Henry N. Trahan, of Austin; and nephew, Deacon Robert S. Trahan, Jr. and his wife, Natalia, of Houston.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Billy Richard Trahan; and sister, Barbara L. Trahan; and sister-in-law, Betty E. Trahan.
A gathering of Mr. Trahan’s family and friends will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., with his Rosary recited at 6:00 p.m., Sunday, September 19, 2021, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Monday, September 20, 2021, at Infant Jesus Catholic Church, 243 South LHS Drive, Lumberton, with his interment to follow at Pine Ridge Cemetery, Sour Lake.
Memorial contributions may be made in memory of James to Infant Jesus Contingency Fund, 243 South LHS Drive, Lumberton Texas 77657 or to Infant Jesus Knights of Columbus 4th Degree, 243 South LHS Drive, Lumberton, Texas 77657.

My thoughts and prayers are with you all
Thank you so much for being one of dads best friends. Sending prayers your way as well
I have know Jim since 1987. We worked together 9 years at Waco Center for Youth in Maintenance. He and I became instant friends. It has been since the late 90s that he and I have seen each other. But, on September 14th I was miraculously contacted and made aware of his condition. I was so fortunate to be able to let him know by his family relaying my message to him just minutes before he passed, that I loved him and wished God’s best for him. Jim blessed me and my entire family so many times over the years and was always considered to be part of our family. We are all better people because of his influence on us. The gap of years that we were not “in touch” did not effect our friendship. I truly have lost a dear friend and brother. His life should be celebrated and not mourned. He was not a man of sadness but one full of positivity and joy. Jim always fought the GOOD FIGHT for everyone he held dear to him. He made a lasting impact on this world during his 74 years. His legacy will endure through all of us that were fortunate to know the man and the soul of JAMES E. TRAHAN, SR.
He truly loved you Bill. You were always a constant joyful memory to my dad. I can see him laughing so hard telling y’all stories. We are praying for y’all as well. We love ya
