James Gus Linscomb
James Gus Linscomb, 95, of Beaumont, died Tuesday, December 28, 2021. He was born on January 2, 1926, to Olivia Boudreaux Linscomb and Leonard Linscomb, in Beaumont.
Survivors include his son, Craig Linscomb and his husband, James, of Houston; daughter, Carolyn Little of Beaumont; grandchildren, Chrissy Johnson and her husband, Adam; Tiffany Martin and her husband, Kevin; and James Little and his wife, Maureen; great-grandchildren, Jonathan, Alanah, Briana, and Brian.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Linscomb; brother, Alsie Linscomb; and sisters, Dorothy Jowers and Annie Ruth Linscomb.
His cremation arrangements will be handled through Broussard’s Crematorium under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.
Memorial contributions may be made to Wesley United Methodist Church, 3810 North Major Drive, Beaumont, Texas 77713.
My parents were close friends with James and Betty. I’m so sorry for the family’s loss.
So sad to learn of Mr. Linscomb passing away over the holidays. He will be missed during our 8:00 service but knowing that he is with his sweetheart again and at peace. Prayers for all during this difficult time.

I will miss seeing Mr. Linscomb and his daughter at our 8:00 service. They presented such a beautiful picture of devotion every Sunday morning. It always warmed my heart. Peace and love to you all.

Mr. and Mrs. Linscomb were both great friends of my family. As I grew up, they were always very supportive of anything I did. Anytime I saw them, they were super positive and encouraging. They are missed for sure. Prayers for the family during this time.
I remember Mr and Mrs Linscomb from the old neighborhood, really the best neighborhood in South Park.

Uncle James was one of a kind. He was so funny and kind and always had a good story to tell. I used to love the smell of his pipe and the way he would joke around with us. He will be missed but is with Aunt Betty now. I’m pretty sure she and mom and dad had the coffee on for him when he got there! My condolences to Craig and Susie. He will be missed.
Where can I begin, Uncle James? You were a light in this sometimes dark world. The only thing that gives my sister and I any comfort in all of this is knowing that you are once again with your beloved Betty Jo. When we were small, you and she were the lights at the end of what seemed an endless drive from Dallas to Beaumont (at some point during which I inevitably got carsick!). Once we got older, we saw that that light never changed — you always had a twinkle in your eye the minute we saw you, and we loved you so very much for that. As Chrissy said, thank you for being you. We will love and miss you until we meet again.
James and Betty were out pew mates for the 8:00 A.M. service @ Wesley UMC for several years. Delightful, devoted couple who surely are rejoicing at being reunited in Heaven.

My HERO, my heart, my teacher, my shoulder to lean on, my father figure, the man I looked up to the most, my Grandfather. He would’ve been 96 on Sunday. This is the hardest thing in the world to do and say goodbye to someone that meant so much to me in this world. I would give everything to make him happy, to smile, to live joyously and I know that being with my grandmother again is truly making him happy. He has asked for months to join her. God is getting an ABSOLUTELY AMAZING Christian man that taught me about hard work and dedication, fishing, giving your all, and about what it means to be faithful to your faith. I have some of the best memories of my life with him from fishing at the Droddy’s to watching him love my son as much as I do. The kindest, sweetest person you would ever meet. Those that knew him loved him. I’ll keep my promises that I made to you and make you proud. I’ll try to hold my head up and carry on but these days are going to be rough and I’ll struggle because I’ll miss you so much. Thank you for your love and your knowledge. Thank you for sooooo many lovely memories. Thank you for being you! I love you and I’ll miss you. You will FOREVER be the Greatest Man I’ve Ever Known and I’ll forever be your baby girl.❤️????❤️????
