James “Larry” Reid
James Larry Reid, 76, of Port Arthur, died Tuesday, December 3, 2024. He was born September 19, 1948, in Marks, Mississippi, to Ivy Shields Reid and James “Jack” Reid.
Survivors include his brother, Jimmy Dale Reid and wife, Cathy Williams; children, Stephanie Reid and husband, Michael Scott; Stephen Reid and wife, Geri Reid; and Stacy Powers and husband, Carl Powers; grandchildren, Stephen Scott, Beau Scott, Brian Oliver and wife, Kate, Savannah Foreman, Jennifer Reid, Jack Reid, Chloe Baker, Brynn Baker, and Hayden Powers; and great grandson, Levi Oliver.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Hollingsworth Reid; father, James “Jack” Reid; mother, Ivy Sheilds Reid; and siblings, Pat Swindell, James Partain, and Jean Rowlet.
A gathering of Mr. Reid’s family and friends will be 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., Thursday, December 5, 2024, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. His funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 6, 2024, at Broussard’s, with his interment to follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park, Port Neches.
