James Russell Martin

October 7, 1961 - January 1, 2021

James Russell Martin, 59, of Houston, died Friday, January 1, 2021. He was born on October 7, 1961 to Linda Richardson and James Patrick Martin in Beaumont.

Survivors include his parents, Pat and Linda Martin, in Beaumont; daughter, Mary Frances Vermillion and her husband, Ken, in Colorado; son, Kelby Martin, of Kerrville; daughter, Katherine Curry and her wife, Megan, of Dallas; partner, Melinda Hughes, of Houston; and sister, Jennifer Martin, of Houston.

A graveside service for Mr. Martin will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 9, 2020 at Antioch Cemetery, Buna, Texas under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.

Memorial contributions may be made to Southwestern University Baseball Program, P.O. Box 770 Georgetown, Texas 78627-0770 or the Houston Food Bank, 535 Portwall Street, Houston, Texas 77029.
