I do not even know where to begin, as I just found out about Wesley’s passing this morning so we missed being able to honor him at the service. I will try my best here. Wesley and I started working for the City of Beaumont in 1993 as Animal Control Officers. We were hired on together and with both of us having a livestock background and being around the same age, we really worked good together. After a few years he moved to other agencies closer to Winnie and ended up at Chambers County Sheriff’s Office as I moved up the ranks to the Director o Animal Care and Control here in Beaumont. I can still hear Wesley’s voice as he would randomly call to see how we were doing and to get some sort of animal control advice for odd issues that he may have encountered in Chambers County. Wesley loved his job, his family and working with animals. You will be missed my friend!

RIP. My condolences. I haven’t spoke to him since school. I remember seeing Wes on TV. Something to do with Animal Cruelty to horses. I believe I met him on the Joybus for my church way back in the early 80s. Always a True Cowboy in every sense of the word! I pray for strength for Mary Beth and all those kids and grandkids. He was truly blessed.
    Thank you.

Wesley was a good man and true cowboy! He came out a few times to catch gators out of our pond. Concerned that the pond was close to our kid’s home, we would call and he came with a trap right away! I also worked with Mr. Jim years ago, on TBCD and Chambers County Drainage projects. I’m positive that they are visiting with each other right now!

    Rodney Kahla says:

To the family I send continued prayers and condolences. I pray for peace and understanding.
I’ve known Wesley for over 15 years working often side by side with him for the sheriff’s office and other times working cattle. I can’t express the extreme sorrow and loss felt by so many with his passing. Chambers county has lost a true cowboy, a wonderful person and absolute stand up guy. No one can ever question his dedication, effort and resilience in any and everything he did.
I know GOD already has you whole again, prowling a pasture on the best horse, belly deep in grass looking over a grand herd of cattle with that trademark smile, hat, voice and quick wit.
Truly a blessing to call you friend.
Rest in peace my friend until we meet again.
