Mrs. Hilgemeier was my 5th grade teacher at Amelia Elementary in
1970 -71. She was one of my favorites.
Mrs. Hilgemier taught her students to be good students and a better person
God blessed my generation with this wonderful lady!
She was so kind and welcoming to me when I began attending St John. She was always engaging with me and being sweet and easily made me love her. I’m sending her family all the prayers as they grieve. God bless ya’ll.
I always wanted to have her as a teacher because she walked down the hall with a big smile on her face when other teachers looked like sour pusses. She was one of us!!! She did good work here on earth and I’m happy to see she had a great life after retirement too!! Hugs to her family and Glenn Hilgemier too wherever he is now.
Jane lived across the street from us when I was younger. She was so sweet and always had that smile. She and my mom taught together at Amelia elementary. They would always talk in the street! My deepest sympathy to Greg and Glenda and the rest of the family. Hope she meets up with my mom in heaven!
To a great teacher at Amelia, and knowing all of this family, Mr Hilgemeier as principal and Dale as classmate for 12 yrs. Prayers for this family, God bless you all.
She was my 5th Grade teacher in 1982 at Regina Howell Elementary. She was one of my favorite teachers!! It looks like she lived a long, full life.
One of my favorite teachers for sure…. sent me out in the hall to stand their for Mr. Bond our Principal, to see me out there and note that I must have been mis-behaving…. she also made me put my gum on my nose whenever she caught me chewing it… she was definitely “Old School” for sure…. but I loved her through it all….what a wonderful lady….I had her in fifth grade as well in 1961….
Jane and I graduated together in 1950 from Beaumont High School. Years later we met up again when she taught a couple of my kids at Amelia school. They were crazy about her (weren’t we all?) and was among their few all-time favorite teachers. Jane was one of the loveliest people I’ve ever known and know that she is happy being reunited with Hank and the rest of her family in God’s heavenly kingdom.
My 5th grade math teacher at Amelia. Above her classroom door was a printed quote that said something like through this door passes the smartest students. She had a big influence on my life.
Mrs, Hilgemeier was my 5th gr. teacher at Amelia Elem. in 1965. I remember the TV show, Peyton Place, being her favorite weekly show. I remember after lunch, Mrs. Hilgemeier would sit at her desk and put on her red tennis shoes to go teach P.E. to another class. We would all be gathered arond her desk, watching her change shoes each day. Mr. Bettis would come in our ckass and teach us Geography. All my teachers at Amelia were great, including Mrs, Hilgemeier !
