Janella Castille

January 28, 1931 - May 5, 2022

Janella Castille, 91, of Port Arthur, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 5, 2022. She left this earth surrounded by her family. Jane, as her friends and family called her, was born January 28, 1931, in Ville Platte, Louisiana. She was an only child. She moved to Texas in 1940 when her father was employed by Gulf Oil. She married her sweetheart, Roy Castille when she was 16, and they immediately began their family. She was a loving mother to three children, and adored her seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and the apple of her eye, her one great-great-grandson.

She is celebrated and mourned for by her children, Peggy Mullins and Sandy; Crystal Noyola and husband, Greg; and Linton Castille and wife, Alice; grandchildren, Dylan Noyola; Sandy Shugart; Carrie Ford; Donald Castille; and David Mullins; and numerous great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Janella is preceded in death by her mother, Mamie Veillon; father, Maurius Veillon; husband of seventy-three years, Roy Joseph Castille; son-in-law, Harry Mullins; and grandsons, Tyler Noyola and Jerry Mullins.

A gathering of Mrs. Castille’s family and friends will be 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., with a Rosary recited at 5:00 p.m., Sunday, May 8, 2022, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. Her funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, May 9, 2022, at Broussard’s with her entombment to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Groves.
