Jaynell Bourque Newton

Jaynell Bourque Newton, 83, of Winnie, died Thursday, October 20, 2022. She was born November 15, 1938, in Sulphur, Louisiana, to Bernice Duplechain LaVergne and Elzey LaVergne.

Survivors include her husband of twenty-three years, Joe Newton; children, Paula Wynette Scott and husband, Bruce; Nylene Agnes Daigle and husband, David; Elzey Paul Bourque and Mary Hiner; siblings, Medwyn LaVergne and wife, Kathy and Peggy LeBlanc; grandchildren, Amy Caston and husband, Rusty; Becky Norman and husband, David; Jason Bourque and wife, Karli; Brittney Bourque; John Regan Daigle; Amy Skroh and husband, Ben; and Cody Bourque and wife, Lauren; and great-grandchildren, Kelsie Caston; Ivan Norman and wife, Ana; Ramsey Bourque; Landon Skroh; Cody Skroh; Emmaline Skroh; Kenlie Morgan; Brantley Bourque; and Charleigh Bourque.

She is preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Farres Bourque; and son, Jeffrey Louis Bourque.

A gathering of Mrs. Newton’s family and friends will be 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with a Rosary recited at 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 25, 2022, at Broussard’s, 134 West Buccaneer Drive, Winnie. Her funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 26, 2022, at St. Louis Catholic Church, 315 Buccaneer Drive, Winnie, with her interment to follow at Fairview Cemetery, Winnie.

Memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Newton’s honor to the St. Louis Catholic Church Bereavement Committee, 315 West Buccaneer Drive, Winnie, Texas 77665.
