Jeannie was a 1969 Silsbee High School graduate and went on to attend East Texas Baptist College and Lamar University, where she received her bachelor’s degree. Jeannie was a career educator, working for 34 years as a primary education teacher in Deweyville, Spurger, and Silsbee Independent School Districts. As an educator, she held high standards, which at times did not leave much room for flexibility. In return, students were motivated to give their best. Her reputation was well respected as a firm, but fair teacher.
After retirement, Jeannie would often bake sweet treats and share them with local businesses. Many times, the businesses were operated by former students. Jeannie enjoyed being part of her grandchildren’s’ life and making lasting memories. She always had a kind word and big smile to share. The most important character trait of Jeannie was her devotion and commitment to Christ.

Jeannie taught next door to me and was my team lead the first four years of my career at Laura Reeves. I am all the better for the experience. It was not until years later that I found out she was the aunt of one of my high school classmates. Dorie and family, my condolences for the loss of such an impactful woman.
Jon, Gayle and family,
We are so sorry for your loss. You are in our thoughts and prayers.
Delbert and family we pray for you during your loss of Jeannie, may God give you peace and comfort. Hugs🙏🙏

She touched so many lives, and she will be dearly missed.
A mother’s love is infinite and all-encompassing. May you continue to feel her love every day even though she is no longer here with us.

Well AD I could surely write a book about our friendship❤️. It would mostly be about what a wonderful Christian influence you were on me all the years we were friends. I will surely miss the scripture passages of the day that You so faithfully sent out every single day except Sunday . I woke up to those every day I have peace in my heart because I know exactly where you are and I know that you have a brand new body I will think about you every morning as I read a saved scripture of the day from my phone It’s a tearful day but on the other side, it’s a glorious day because you have gone on your journey to the Promised Land with Jesus
I love you, my dear friend, and I have such peace knowing that I will see you again. 💚🐸
We love Jeannie. We will be out of town Sunday but our love and prayers are with you.
Jon, so sorry to read about your Mom. Prayers of comfort for you and your family.
