Jeffrey Charles Rinehart

February 2, 1961 - February 23, 2025

Jeffrey Charles Rinehart, 64, of Nederland, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 23, 2025, at Christus Southeast Texas – St. Elizabeth. He was born February 2, 1961, in Orange, to Diana Sherwood Rinehart and William G. Rinehart.

Jeff retired from Valero, where he worked as a Process Operator for 44 years. He worked tirelessly to give his family everything. As hard as he worked, he played just as hard. When he wasn’t watching music videos and drinking Tito’s on his patio with his family and friends, he could be found on the golf course. He loved golf so much that after retiring, he started working at Babe Zaharias golf course so he could enjoy his favorite sport every day. Jeff also enjoyed cheering on the Cowboys, enjoying a beer on ice at Buckstin Brewing Co., having a margarita at Sombrero with his family, jamming to Grateful Dead, being a Jeep owner, and relaxing in his hot tub.

His last moments were spent cutting up with his nurses at the hospital and asking for a cheeseburger instead of his broth. Jeff was always the funniest person in the room and always had everyone laughing with his goofiness. He lovingly gave everyone a silly nickname, coined his own catchphrases, made up his own songs, and did his signature funny dance moves. Jeff was positive, carefree, silly, and kind. He is a great reminder to us all to not take life so seriously and to extend love to everyone with zero judgment. Jeff was a loving husband, a proud father and Poppy, and a friend to all.

Jeff lived for a good party and loved having family around. Family was so important to him and he shared at both of his daughter’s weddings that he won the lottery with the addition of his son-in-law’s family to his own. His memory will live on through his family and many friends who love him deeply. Enjoy your cheeseburger in paradise.

Survivors include his wife, Robbie Rinehart; father, William G. Rinehart; daughters, Shelby Day and husband, Taylor, and Shaena Lockhart and husband, Garrett; grandchild, Evie Day; brothers, Bill Rinehart and wife, Donna; Corb Rinehart and wife, Barb; and Todd Rinehart; brother-in-law, Ray Logsdon and wife, Rachelle; mother-in-law, Janet Logsdon; nephews, Walt Rinehart and wife, Elissa, Max Rinehart, and Trent Logsdon; and nieces, Christina Rinehart, Cassy Rodriguez and husband, Matt, Anna Rinehart, and Nikki Logsdon.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Diana Rinehart, and father-in-law, James Logsdon.

A gathering of Mr. Rinehart’s family and friends will begin at 1:30 p.m., with his memorial service at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, March 1, 2025, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. His cremation arrangements will be handled through Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont.

Jeff was a great guy with a big heart! He was always very kind and helpful to me and my son. I will miss seeing him pull his jeep in and out of the garage every day. I’ll miss yelling hello to him across the street (and him not hearing me, ha).
