Jerry Evans Lowrie

Jerry Evans Lowrie, 83, of Barksdale, Texas, died Wednesday, February 2, 2022, at Amistad Nursing and Rehabilitation, Uvalde, Texas. She was born November 4, 1938, in Alice, Texas, to Jewel V. Crow Huckabay and George G. Huckabay.

Jerry enjoyed sewing, knitting, and crocheting. She also loved to sit on her front porch swing and watch the deer in the yard. Jerry will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and gran.

Survivors include her children, Randy Lynn Evans and his wife, Stacie, of Sour Lake; Kenneth Edward Evans and his wife, Cindy, of Barksdale; and Vickie Rae Russell and her husband, John, of Huffman; grandchildren, David and Jason Carter and Rebecca Evans; five great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Jewel and George Huckabay; husband of twelve years and father of her children, Arthur “Bud” Evans; second husband of over twenty years, Curtis Lowrie; and brothers, John L. Heck and Douglas Huckabay.

A gathering of Mrs. Lowrie’s family and friends will be 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday, February 11, 2022, at Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee. Her funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 12, 2022, at Broussard’s, with her interment to follow at Old Hardin Cemetery, Kountze.
