Jessie Cormier
Jessie Ann Cormier, 77, of Groves, died Thursday, January 12, 2023, at University of Texas Medical Branch, Galveston. She was born July 2, 1945, in Port Arthur, to Nelian LeBlanc and LeRoy Cormier. Jessie was raised in Port Neches and was a lifelong member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church. She was a 1963 graduate from Port Neches Groves High School.
In Jessie’s spare time, you could find her running the roads with her sisters/friends, chasing after three great-grandchildren, planting flowers in her flowerbed, or enjoying the sunshine while sitting in her rocking chair out on the deck. She loved spending time with her family more than anything, especially her sisters. She also loved volunteering on the Alter Flower Committee at church. Jessie looked forward to her monthly dinners with her graduation class (PNG ’63), and was excited for their upcoming 60th class reunion that is in the works for later this year.
Jessie was the world’s greatest mom, sister, friend, aunt, nannie, “Mufru” and Mawmaw to all who are blessed to have known her.
Survivors include her daughters, Michele Borres and partner, Kevin Hebert and Traci Klutts and husband, Kevin; grandchildren, Joey Durso; Troy Borres; Rikki Borres; Nikol Palermo and husband, Brett; Dylan Kitchell; and Austin Klutts; great-grandchildren, Michael Wales, Rhett Borres, and Annabelle Palermo; sisters, Royce Daigle and husband, Martin; Merlene Jeffries and husband, Ben; and Lorelei Johnson and husband, Robert; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, LeRoy Cormier and Nelian LeBlanc Herpin and daughter, Linette Borres Kitchell.

She always was caring, helpful, fun & loving. Her family was her priority. She’s going to be missed by so many people.
Although I am not there with ya’ll my thoughts and prayers are with each of you.
The video was a perfect example of what a wonderful life Jessie lived. Her love of family and a smile that lit up says it all.
I worked with Jessie at the Jefferson County Courthouse. She was a wonderful person who loved her daughters so much and her grandchildren were her pride and joy. Heaven has gained an Angel. Prayers to you all and may the Perpetual Light Shine Upon Her.
O my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of Hell, and lead all souls to Heaven; especially those in most need of thy mercy. Amen.
What a lovely video and photo montage! And how happy your family appears in all of the photos. Be assured of my fervent prayers for your mom, Traci, and for your family.
I am so sorry for yall’s loss. The world lost a wonderful woman but heaven gained an angel! Sure gunna miss u Jessie aka: mom. I remember when Michele & I snuck outta the house & u locked all of the doors & windows so we would HAVE to knock on the door to get back in. ????????Of course we snuck out to see boys. Man! Those were the days. We spent years living across the street from yall. My life has been so blessed with you in it. You always treated me like I was one of your daughters. And when I finally came back home from being gone for years, you had opened arms for me when I saw you. I always loved you, Jessie. Always! Praying for the family! Until we see you again, look on them every mow and then.
