Jewel McBride

December 1, 1929 - September 2, 2022

Jewel “Jubie” Fowler McBride, 92, of Winnie, died Friday, September 2, 2022. She was born December 1, 1929, in Hankamer, to Ella Mae Fisher Fowler and Conrad Asa Fowler.

Jubie was a faithful member of St. Louis Catholic Church, Winnie. She enjoyed cooking, reading, and visiting with friends. Jubie will forever be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and aunt.

Survivors include her nieces and nephews, Patsy Stephenson of Wallisville; Charles Toby Gardner and wife, Pat, of Cypress; Jackie McBride Bolton and husband, Charles, of Pearland; and Debbie McBride of Winnie; and great-nieces and nephews, Baret Stephenson and wife, Charlotte; Cris Stephenson and wife, Lynna; Melissa Lomax and husband, Rob; Kim Schexsnaider; Jason Schexsnaider and wife, Tiffany; Misty Schexsnaider; Charlie Bolton; and Amanda Bolton.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband of forty-four years, James “Boogie” McBride; son, Jim McBride; and sisters, Hazel Gardner and Eloise “Weezie” McBride.

Cremation arrangements for Mrs. McBride will be handled through Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont, under the direction of Broussard’s, 134 West Buccaneer Drive, Winnie. A private family commital will take place at a later date.

Memorial contributions in honor of Mrs. McBride may be made to St. Louis Catholic Church, 315 Buccaneer Drive, Winnie, Texas 77665 or to the Chambers County Library, P.O. Box 597, Winnie, Texas 77665.

    I didn’t know Jubie long but she was my father’s neighbor before he passed. She would always stop by when I was working in the yard and I enjoyed chatting with her and helping her out when I could.

    Where do I begin! Jubie has been a part of my life since day one! Our families were meshed together in many ways and she will truly be missed! She and my Mama were such good friends and she told me every time I talked to her how much she missed her! After five years they are reunited. Debbie, you made her final days so much better!!
