Jimmy Wayne Nicholson
Jimmy Wayne Nicholson, 78, ‘Jim’, a man who loved his wife completely, whose children/grandchildren would make him beam with pride, whose humor and heart will forever echo in the hearts of his family and friends, went to his Heavenly Home on Monday, April 3, 2023.
Jim was born in Cushing, Oklahoma on January 1, 1945, and, from an early age, his love of life was obvious. Jim’s numerous stories of his adventures were spell bounding, including many races with anything that had wheels, and even some without.
Many came to know Jim as the ‘milkman’ during his 13 years as a Borden distributor. Many more came to know and love Jim during his 35 years in the car business. His charisma was apparent the second you met him. ‘Let me give you one of my cards’ continued even after his retirement to make sure he kept in touch with everyone he met.
At the beach, lake, deer lease, and home, Jim spent many days bonding with his family. He loved teaching them how to fix things, ride ATVs, fish and hunt but most importantly, he taught them to enjoy every moment with family and friends to its fullest.
Jim was quick to tell those nearest him that his beautiful wife Max, was like no other and marrying her changed everything. Max’s unconditional love allowed Jim to thrive personally and professionally, deepen his faith, and, during his health battle, to be comforted by Max’s constant and quiet strength.
Jim was a treasure to us all – a man who genuinely loved people – gregarious and kind, smart and witty, gentle and strong. Loved and deeply admired by his children, Jim was their hero, their role model, and their best friend.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents, Wayne and Marcheta Nicholson; his sister, Deanna Savage; and his two sons, Jimmy Dean Nicholson and Kurt Wayne Nicholson.
Jim will be greatly missed by his wife, Maxine Nicholson; his children, Paul Nicholson, and daughter-in-love Tiffany, Keith Nicholson, and daughter-in-love Erin, Michelle Nicholson Simon and son-in-law Jason, daughter-in-love Bonnie Nicholson Meloncon and son-in-law Brian, and daughter-in-love Glenda Nicholson; his grandchildren, Ryan Nicholson, Ciarli Morgan, Kylea Nicholson, Montana Nicholson, HayLee Gilmore, Cheyenne Chichester, Ila Nicholson, and Bryce Nicholson; his great grandchildren, Sawyer, Kaysen, Trey, Jolie, and Navy; and, of course, his puppy dog, Molly.
A gathering of Mr. Nicholson’s family and friends will begin at 10:00 a.m., with his Celebration of Life at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 15, 2023at First Baptist Church Fannett, 17019 Highway 124, Beaumont. His cremation arrangements were handled through Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.

I just saw on Broussard’s website that Jim passed away. I am so sorry. I knew him through his mother. Marcheta and I attended the same church. I live down the street from where she lived. I helped her out frequently. Jim would stop by to say hello from time to time. May God grant you an extra measure of comfort and peace.

Jimmy, delivered milk to our house and all of our neighbors houses in High Island, Texas for many years. The man always had a smile on his face and would take the time to throw a football with us. RIP

When Jim was around, there were always great stories and lots of laughs. As mentioned, he truly loved people. He was a dear friend of our family for many years and will be missed. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Max and the rest of his family.
We had breakfast at whataburger with Jimmy every morning. My husband is Jim. They went fishing and to the gun show together . So sorry for you loss. We are out of town. So we will not be able to attend the funeral.
