Jo Vita Finn
Jo Vita Finn, 83, passed away Sunday, March 2, 2025, at the Arboretum of Winnie. She was born on December 31, 1941, in Monroe City, Texas to Thomas Edward Benson and Sarah Lucile Reviea Benson. Over the years, Jo has had very successful careers. She was Co-owner of Western Auto in Port Acres, Texas, received her real estate license and was a Real Estate Agent in Huntington Beach, California, and Co-owner of George’s (bait & tackle shop) in Winnie Texas where she also designed and painted ceramics and created personalized gifts.
Jo was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was married to George Finn “the love of her life” for 55 years. They met while she was waitressing at Orchid Inn at four corners in Anahuac and fell in love at first sight. She was very talented, loved to sew and made her own wedding dress and clothes for her children. Jo also enjoyed crocheting, gardening, cooking, card games, puzzles and spending time with family and friends. She was very kindhearted, giving and always helped and took care of others.
Survivors include seven children (3 sons and 4 daughters). Sons are, John Finn and wife Dana of Anahuac, James Finn and wife Annie of Winnie, and Richard Pringle and wife Karen of Livingston, LA. Daughters are Sue Ellen Finn Bergeron of Beaumont, Mary Ann Fuller and husband Charles “Skip” of Dyer Brook ME, Theresa “Terri” Parks and husband, Don of Winnie, and Glenda Rutherford and husband Jimmy of Winnie. She also had 18 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life for Jo Vita Finn will be held at 4:00 p.m., on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at First Baptist Church, 120 West Pear Avenue, Winnie. Her cremation arrangements were handled through Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont, under the direction of, Broussard’s, 134 West Buccaneer Drive, Winnie.
