I have had many teachers in my life, but Joanne by far was my greatest teacher. She entered my life when my department got funding for a variety of nonverbal communication devices. Joanne forced me to fast track my knowledge base. She endured many long sessions with the reward of playing a computer card game using an adaptive switch. She continued to surprise me with her sense of humor and brutally honest responses! Her parents gave her the best life possible. Joanne’s home was filled with love and support. I will surely miss her devious grin.
