Joel Emiliano Hernandez
Joel Emiliano Hernandez, 63, of Port Arthur, died Monday, March 21, 2022, at Houston Methodist Hospital. He was born July 13, 1958, in Queretaro, Mexico, to Irinea Sanchez and Juan Hernandez. Joel enjoyed gardening and working out and was known for his encouraging words and motivational writings.
Survivors include his wife, Lydia Hernandez; children, Esperanza Hernandez; and Juan Hernandez and fiancé, Alexis Barajas; grandchildren, Julio C. Delgado II and Cesar J. Delgado; siblings, Ascension Hernandez and wife, Berta; Rodrigo Hernandez and wife, San Juanita; Sele Hernandez; and Felipe Hernandez and wife, Lupe; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Isaias E. Delgado; and siblings, Gregorio Hernandez and Florencia Sanchez.
A gathering of Joel’s family and friends will be 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Saturday, March 26, 2022, at Broussard’s, 134 West Buccaneer Drive, Winnie. His funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday, March 27, 2022, at Broussard’s, with his interment to follow at Fairview Cemetery, Winnie.
