John Lloyd Fowler

September 19, 1922 - May 21, 2021

John “Jack” Lloyd Fowler, 98 years young of Lumberton, died Friday, May 21, 2021. He was born on September 19, 1922, in Springfield, Missouri, to Mary Brachney Fowler and John Leslie Fowler. 

Mr. Fowler proudly served his country in the United States Navy during World War II and served on the Wyendot and USS McKee. He lived in Lumberton for over twenty years and retired from ExxonMobil.

Survivors include his daughter, Sharyn Knost and her husband, Robert, of Kilgore; son, Kenneth Fowler of Lumberton; grandsons, Joshua Morton; Chris Fowler and his wife, Mandi; Aaron Fowler; and Scott Smith; numerous great-grandchildren; and special friends, Christy and Tommy King.  He is preceded in death by his parents; wife of sixty-five years, Wanda Fowler; and granddaughter, Sandi Smith.

A gathering of Mr. Fowler’s family and friends will be at 1:30 p.m., Sunday, May 23, 2021, at Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee.  His graveside service will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday, May 23, 2021, at Hardin Memorial Park, Silsbee.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Baptist Church, 350 Highway 96 South, Silsbee 77656.
