John Robert Brown, 96, of Kountze died Thursday, September 4, 2025. He was born on September 10, 1928, in Kountze, to Myrtle Davis Brown and Silas Robert Brown.

Survivors include his children, Reverend Mike Brown and his wife, Irene; Danny Brown; and Kay Stutts and her husband, George; all of Kountze; grandchildren, Patricia Sarabia and her husband, Frank, of Irving; Steven Stutts and his wife, Brandi, of Kountze; Greg Brown and his wife, Karen, of Crestview, Florida; Brandy Lanell Morse; Dana Ramsey and her husband, Cody; Jason Brown and Scott Stutts, all of Kountze; thirteen great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Betty Lloyd of Taylor, Texas; Gene Brown and his wife Charlotte, of Sour Lake; and Jackie Brown and his wife Carolyn, of Kountze. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Patricia Brown; daughter, Cheryl Ann Nabors; and three siblings.

The family would like to thank the staff at Paradigm at the Pines, of Kountze for their care; Gentiva Hospice nurses, aides and social workers.

A gathering of family and friends will begin at 2:00 p.m., with his funeral service at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, September 7, 2025, at Little Rock Assembly of God Church, 5970 Highway 326 N, Kountze. His interment will follow at Pine Ridge Cemetery, 13430 Texas 421, Kountze, under the direction of Broussard’s, 530 West Monroe, Kountze.

    John Robert Brown was a great man. I loved the canes he made out of vines from the Big Thicket. All of Uncle Silas’ and Aunt Myrtle’s children were like siblings to our family. May all his family be comforted at this time. God bless you all. 🌹🙏✝️
