John Wesley Rountree

John Wesley Rountree, 78, of Kountze, died Monday, September 7, 2020.  He was born on October 6, 1941, in Merryville, Louisiana, to Nettie Bryant Rountree and Joseph Nevil Rountree.

Survivors include his children, Evelyn Marie Olds of Lumberton; Wesley Dale Rountree of Kountze; and John Neal Rountree and Anna Nicole Rountree and her husband, Joey Hall, all of Kirbyville; ten grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; brothers, William Nathan Rountree and his wife, Mona, of Nederland; and Davis Thomas Rountree of Kountze; sister, Nancy O’Quinn and her husband, Simon, of Silsbee; and life long friends, Adlai Lack and Leon Reed.  He is preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Kenneth Cain, Margaret Langston, Betty Jo McCabe, Mary Louise Crawford, Nettie Harvey, and Barbara Patrick.

A gathering of Mr. Rountree’s family and friends will begin at 9:00 a.m., Saturday, September 12, 2020, at Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee, with his graveside service to follow at 11:00 a.m., at Hooks Cemetery, Kountze.
