John Walter Robinson
John Walter Robinson, 93, of Beaumont, died Tuesday, July 9, 2024. He was born on May 6, 1931, in Bixby, Oklahoma, to Belva Payte Robinson and Joseph Herman “Babe” Robinson.
Survivors include his children, Gloria Douglas and spouse, Roger, of Lumberton; and John Walter Robinson, Jr. and spouse, Sha, of Granbury; grandchildren, John Douglas of Port Acres; Julia Bean and spouse, Cody, of Lumberton; James Douglas of Lumberton; Sam Robinson of Weatherford; and Ben Robinson of Fort Worth; great-grandchildren, Emerson Bean, Tyler Douglas, Eden Bean, and Owen Bean; and sister, Martha Arbuckle and spouse, Loren, of Conroe.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Belva and Babe Robinson; wife, Lavena Robinson; brother, James Robinson; and sister, Helen Pitts.
John grew up in Boswell, OK and graduated from Boswell High School in 1949. After graduating, he spent 33 months in the US Army and was honorably discharged in 1951. He married Lavena Darnell and attended Oklahoma University where he earned a degree in Chemical Engineering.
During his career as a Chemical Engineer, he derived a mathematical model that enabled moisture control in dryers in manufacturing for which he was awarded two patents. Based on this technology, he established a business, Drying Technology, Inc.
He served six years as a board member of the Lower Neches River Valley Authority, two years as President at the time of the Saltwater Barrier construction.
He placed his faith in Jesus Christ while at Oklahoma University. He loved the Lord and faithfully serve Him the rest of his life
A gathering of Mr. Robinson’s family and friends will be 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., with his funeral service at 2:00 p.m., Friday, July 12, 2024, at Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee. His interment will follow at R.S. Farmer Memorial Cemetery, Silsbee.

Roger and I were in Kiwanis with John. He was an interesting and honorable man. He light of GOD shown through him.
