John Lee Worrell

June 22, 1945 - December 4, 2020

John Lee Worrell, 75, of Zavalla, died Friday, December 4, 2020.  He was born on June 22, 1945, in Newton, Mississippi, to Eva Page Worrell Gainey and Lloyd Worrell.

John moved to Texas to work and never left. He was a heavy equipment operator and became plant manager of Trinity industry until his retirement. He was an avid fisherman and also loved hunting. John enjoyed spending time with his family and his dogs.   

Survivors include his wife, LaVern Worrell; sons, John Anthony Worrell and his wife, Angie; and Joel Hitchcock and his wife, Cindy; daughters, Carol Cude and her husband, David; and Carrie Brown and hie husband, Marlon; sixteen grandchildren; and twenty-five great-grandchildren.  He is preceded in death by his father, Lloyd Worrell; mother, Eva Gainey; stepson, Jerry Hitchcock, Jr.; granddaughters, Amanda Brown and Dixie Bielicki; grandson, Zachary Hitchcock; and brother, Thomas Worrell.

Mr. Worrell’s memorial service will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, December 7, 2020, at Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee.  His committal was held at Broussard’s Crematorium.

Mr. Worrell’s family would like to thank all the caregivers at Affinity Hospice for the loving care given to John.
