Johnny Lee Fillingim

Johnny Lee Fillingim, 65, of Port Arthur died, Friday, June 27, 2025. He was born on April 21, 1960, in Kountze, to Alberta Presley Fillingim and Herman Fillingim.

Johnny lived in the Hardin County area his whole life. He loved to fish and hunt. He also liked to watch the Syfy channel and the local weather on TV.

He was a faithful member of Little Rock Assembly of God Church where he was an usher. He never failed to give an offering and he loved being with his church family, never missing unless he was sick.

The past two years he has lived in Port Arthur at Community Retirement Home where he made new friends. The staff said Johnny never complained and it was a pleasure having him live there.

The last few months, as his health was failing him, Concho Hearts Hospice was a great help and comfort to him. They did all they could to help him and they were there with him until he departed this life to his new life with Jesus.

He is survived by his extended family, friends, and church family.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Alberta and Herman Fillingim; brothers, Kenneth Allen “Twinkie” Fillingim, William Fillingim, and Doug Fillingim; sisters, Bobby Fillingim, Betty Lou Gilliam, and Ginger Fillingim; and nephews, Josh Fillingim and Donald Wayne Gilliam.

A graveside service for Mr. Fillingim will begin at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at Pine Ridge Cemetery, 13480 TX-421, Kountze, under the direction of Broussard’s, 530 West Monroe, Kountze.
