Joseph Edward Piazza, Sr.

Joseph Edward Piazza, Sr., 83, of Beaumont, Texas, passed away, Thursday, July 7, 2022. He was born October 23, 1938, in Port Arthur, Texas, to Rosalie Graffagnino Piazza and Martin Piazza. Joseph worked as a Tugboat Captain for many years. Joseph enjoyed sharing memories of Port Arthur and Sabine Pass, Texas, where he met his wife and many friends. He loved being around the water, taking family beach vacations and loved cruising after retirement.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Jennings Piazza, of Beaumont; daughter, Elizabeth Piazza Thornton; son, Joseph Edward Piazza, Jr. (Joey) and his wife, Becky; son, Stephen Roy Piazza and his wife, Jill; daughter, Jennifer Piazza Klawitter and her husband, Russell; grandchildren, Jessica, Joseph, Taylor, Naomi, Anna, Travis, Sarah, and Lydia, Jonathan, David, and Levi; one great-grandchild, Arabella; and sister, Mardell Fletcher and her husband, Gerald.

Joseph is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Charles Piazza.

A gathering of Mr. Piazza’s family and friends will be at 1:00 p.m., with his funeral service beginning at 2:00 p.m., Monday, July 11, 2022, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. His interment will follow at Haven of Rest, 13851 US-90, Beaumont.
