Josh “J.L.” Hill

Josh “J.L.” Hill, 85, of China, died Monday, August 16, 2021, at Christus Southeast Texas-St. Elizabeth, Beaumont. He was born on January 9, 1936, to Alma Brackett and Van Hill, in Attalla, Alabama, and was a veteran of the United States Navy having served in the Korean War. J.L. was a charter member and Deacon of Meeker Baptist Church. He loved to garden here at the house, and he loved to hunt as well.

Survivors include his wife of sixty-one years, Delores Hill; son, Josh Hill; grandsons, Seth Hill and Travis Coe; two brothers; one sister; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Winona Coe; three sisters; and three brothers.

A gathering of Mr. Hill’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 18, 2021, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. His funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, August 19, 2021, at Broussard’s, with interment to follow at China Cemetery, China, with military honors.

Memorial contributions may be made to Meeker Baptist Church, 575 North Meeker Road, Beaumont, Texas 77713.
