Joyce Marie Scarborough Moore
Joyce Marie Scarborough Moore, 89, of Beaumont, died peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Sunday, January 8.
She was born on April 28, 1933, in San Antonio, Texas, to Benjamin and Neva Marie Scarborough. She married Reverend Glenn Moore in 1954. For over 60 years, they were true partners in life and ministry, and together they served five congregations as minister and wife.
Joyce Marie Moore was perfectly named. The word that truly represents her life is joy. She practiced kindness, loved people, and loved having fun. Joyce brought great joy to her family, friends, and all she encounters, and will be greatly missed by all who loved her.
Joyce is preceded in death by her husband of sixty-three years, Glenn Moore; and her sister, Betty Cermin.
She is survived by her son, John Moore (Kim), of Beaumont; daughters, Cindy Terry (Roger), of San Antonio; and Melinda Hamilton (Mike), of Beaumont; grandchildren, Meredith LeBlanc (Drew); Dr. Hunter Hamilton (Mary); Caitlin Davis (Derek); Christine Malone (Chris); and Madison Moore; and her six great-grandsons; Grant LeBlanc, Dwyer Davis, Carter LeBlanc, Sawyer Hamilton, Grady Malone, and Shepherd Hamilton.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the caregivers who have loved and cared for Joyce over the past 6 years.
A gathering of Mrs. Moore’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 6:30 p.m., Friday, January 13, 2023, at First Christian Church, 5290 North Caldwood, Beaumont. Her funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 14, 2023, at First Christian Church, under the direction of Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont. Cremation arrangements were handled through Broussard’s Crematorium.

So sorry for the loss of your mother. Such a sweet lady. When I ran into her, she always had a smile on her face.
Definitely a life well lived! My continued prayers and sympathy for the family. May Gods peace and comfort be with you all in your time of grieving. Joyce will be missed and it was such a great pleasure to know and care for her.
